Norfolk Southern
Inland Port Crane Project
In an effort to relieve high truck volumes at the Port of Savannah, a Norfolk Southern railyard received six cranes, enabling them to load more containers onto trucks from the railhead at an inland port. STC handled moving all of the major pieces of the cranes that weighed up to 120,000 lbs and had a maximum length of 120 feet. The individual crane sections were directly discharged from the ship to the trailer, to make the transportation as efficient as possible.
